Canine Conniving!

As you may (or may not) remember, our perimeter walls are only 90 cm high. Some people don't worry to build walls, and some people have walls but no gates. So, it's easy for the dogs to nip out and go for a walk, or in Alfie's case, hop over the wall and pop next door! And he does. Every morning without fail, Alfie meets up with his friends on the corner under the lamp post and when they have finished sniffing about and kicking the lamp post, they all go next door to visit Emma and Coert. Who spoil them all terribly!

Waiting for the gates to open!

Sometimes they have to wait a few minutes for the gates to open, rather like arriving a little early at the Mall, but finally they all head in to greet the neighbours and have a biscuit or three!

Buddy shakes hands with Coert! Bart and Alfie look on!

The large blonde Labrador, Buddy, lives almost at the other side of the village, and visits several houses on his way here, before heading to the beach to see who he can play with, and finally to the hotel to see what he can scrounge from the visitors! He isn't very keen on cats though and Basil seems to time his appearances to coincide with Buddy's arrival and then sits just out of reach while Buddy salivates!

Emma with Bart, while Scruffy, Buddy and Alfie wait their turn!

The two small dogs, Scruffy and Bart, live in the middle of the village and belong to friends of ours. We know exactly when Bev lets them out every morning, because we are usually sitting in bed drinking our coffee when we see them trotting past on their way to the meeting place! Come rain or shine!

A quick drink and off we go!

Astro belongs to the Scott family on the corner, so she doesn't have far to travel! She and Alfie readily accept their biscuits and then head off to bury them somewhere. Phillip's garden must contain enough biscuits to keep Astro going for the next few years!

Astro heading off to bury her biscuit! Alfie watching.

Alfie then comes home with a grubby nose but Scruffy and Bart settle down for the day! Sometimes they go off to the sea, or head off to watch the fishermen on the rocks, but they always return to the Smits. And they are usually tired by then. So, if they look sad and limp a little bit, they get a lift home! Sometimes Mike comes to fetch them, but more often than not, Emma or Coert will load them into the front seat of the car and drive them home in style! You can see them laughing as they look out of the window!

A door to door delivery service!

It's so nice that it's relatively safe for them to troll through the village, except of course when the thoughtless brigade arrive! Hope they remember that there's a speed limit, or a moral limit over your roads, long may the biscuit brigade visit and cadge!!
